A dedicated public servant with over 30 years of experience in education and risk management, Dr. Tony Tucker contributes invaluable leadership and passion to his role as Administrator of the Tennessee Risk Management Trust (TNRMT), a position he assumed on July 1, 2021.

Prior to this position, Dr. Tucker served on TNRMT’s Board of Trustees for 23 years, including tenures as Vice Chairman and Chairman. This firsthand trust experience, combined with his tenure as Director of Schools for South Carroll County Special School District from 2011 – 2020, provides him with unmatched insight into providing tailored risk solutions for Tennessee schools and governmental entities.

In the words of TNRMT Chairman Dawn Robinson, “We are fortunate to have a candidate with this much relative experience to take over this position. His background will assure a smooth and swift transition.”

Key Achievements & Initiatives:

  • Helped with TNRMT’s expansion reduce risk for county governments, utilities and public entities beyond school systems
  • Played a pivotal role in developing TNRMT’s new Hendersonville headquarters
  • Testified before the State Legislature’s Joint Education Committee as a TNRMT Board member
  • Served on the Huntingdon Special School District board from 1990 – 2008

A pharmacist by training, Dr. Tucker owned and operated City Drug Company in Huntingdon, Tennessee for over 35 years until 2011. This business ownership experience enriched his risk management perspective.

Since his 2020 retirement from South Carroll Schools, Dr. Tucker has maintained his passion for public education by working with Tennessee Department of Education programs and promoting TNRMT.

When not advocating for TNRMT’s membership, Dr. Tucker enjoys spending time with his wife Charlotte, three children, and grandchildren in the Nashville area. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from Samford University.
