Dawn Robinson is a seasoned public servant and community leader with years of experience in education governance and organizational leadership.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee, she dedicated 27 years to her local school board, serving 15 of those years as chairman. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in securing more than $115 million in capital improvements for local schools. Her leadership extended statewide as president of the Tennessee School Boards Association, and she served on the board of the Tennessee Risk Management Trust (TNRMT) for 25 years, including 12 years as chairman.
Dawn’s commitment to professional development and education policy is reflected in her participation in the University of Tennessee’s Local Government Leadership Program and her service on the Board of Examiners for Teacher Education Programs for the Tennessee Department of Education. Her contributions were recognized with the prestigious Hal Henard Distinguished Service Award, honoring her as the State of Tennessee School Board Member of the Year.
Beyond education, Dawn served as business director of Jaroto Enterprises and as volunteer coordinator at Bradley Memorial Hospital, where her dedication to community engagement and organizational growth was evident.
An enthusiastic supporter of Scouting, she has served on the staffs of seven National Scout Jamborees and one World Scout Jamboree.
Dawn and her husband, Dr. Don Robinson, have been married for 53 years. They are the proud parents of four children and grandparents of eight. In her personal time, she enjoys camping, hiking, biking, reading and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.
